Personal Letter: To A Beautiful Child Of God, On Self Esteem
Personal Letter: To A Beau ti ful Child Of God, On Self Esteem
Throughout your entire life, there will never be anything more important for you to remember than that you are a beautiful child of God. There is nothing else you will ever need to base your worth upon than this.
The way you look, the clothes you wear, the way you comb your hair, have nothing to do with your true value. Your value was established for you on the day that you were born, by God, and because of this, you have nothing to prove to anyone.
It’s unfortunate, but at an early age in our lives we are led to believe that our worth as a person is somehow tied into our sexuality and the amount of attention we are able to solicit from the opposite sex, and so, we became preoccupied with the way that we look.
Young girls are trying to make themselves appear far beyond their physical age. Concern about who is the most attractive keeps competition alive and well among women. The sex industry has turned this false belief into a billion dollar business, and the Internet is being used to take this false belief to its ultimate extreme. There seems to be no end to where all of this is taking us.
But you, on the other hand, do not have to buy into all of this, you do have a choice in the matter. All you have to do is remember that your worth as a human being has nothing to do with the way you look. Your value was established for you on the day that you were born. It would serve you very well to always re mem ber that you are a child of God. And God has no favorites: in His eyes we are all equal, and we are all beautiful!
